High VRAM Usage I noticed that OLED Guard Pro uses around 450 MB of VRAM. In addition, Microsoft Edge WebView2, which appears to be used by OLED Guard Pro, consumes another ~500 MB of VRAM. For a background application, this VRAM usage feels quite high. With current GPU prices, many users only have 8–16 GB of VRAM, and this is already a limiting factor for 4K gaming. Reserving nearly 1 GB of VRAM for a background utility can noticeably reduce the amount of memory available for games. It would be great if OLED Guard Pro could reduce its VRAM usage or provide a lightweight mode with lower GPU memory consumption. For reference, I am using the Microsoft Store version of OLED Guard Pro. I'm not sure whether the Steam version has the same Microsoft Edge WebView2 VRAM usage, because I switched to the Microsoft Store version.
V5.0 is releasing soon and all these issues addressed. For the ram usage its only happening if the app is opened, however if you minimized it to the tray it goes back to minimum usage.
Hi v5.0 just released; please check and let me know if the error is still persist; Thank you
Progress update: the standing-usage leak tied to monitor plug/unplug is fixed, and a Low-VRAM mode (SDR capture under HDR + a smaller buffer pool) was added under Settings for constrained GPUs; both land in the next update. One rarer growth pattern after sleep/resume is still under investigation. Also worth knowing: the "Microsoft Edge WebView2" memory you see belongs to the dashboard window, not the protection engine, and it drops when the window is minimized to the tray.
